Fiber Retreat October 14-16 (or any time you want to drop on in)
To me, a "retreat" means a time to get away, relax, and refresh by only doing what you want, when you want. That said, the only activity that will be scheduled is the Duct Tape Dress Form making for 2pm Saturday October 15th.
Materials:
Approximately two 60 foot rolls of duct tape
Old t-shirt that reaches past your hips (one that you are willing to not get back)
Plastic wrap (enough to wrap around your neck)
Old scissors
Sturdy hanger
Fiberfill (at least one 20 ounce bag for an average female body)
or re-purpose plastic grocery bags or other stuff.
Permanent marker
Large Piece of cardboard (to cover bottom of form)
A willing helper
A tasty beverage
If you would like to make one, bring the above (tasty beverage & willing helper will be provided).
PS. Sarah says she has a lot of fun colored duct tape we can use also.
Sleeping arrangements - All my proper beds are spoken for, but there is still plenty of floor space for air mattresses and sleeping bags.
Meals - I will provide continental breakfast (muffins, toast, fruit, yogurt, toaster waffles, juice, coffee, etc). The rest will be potluck meals/beverages so just bring something to share and keep in mind you will be taking any leftovers home with you as I am no longer feeding teenagers!
Movies - In my experience, most sleepovers include movies. If you would like to bring a movie to share, I have both DVD & VHS in the living room as well as Netflix streaming.
Dye station will be open outside but the weather is not supposed to be real nice so plan accordingly.
Nuno Felt Scarf - Scarves are in and make great gifts! According to my sources, Nuno is a Japanese word that means fabric. This technique used to make fabric, involves laminating fiber over a silk core. The silk provides a sturdy base and fabulous texture as the wool felts on and through it. No experience or skills needed.
Coming in November:
Locker hooking with roving
Felt pottery
Hope to see Ewe's Soon!
